Was i defeating myself today? Possibly. Looking at the WOD and it was one of those where you know its going to be a bitch but if you can grind it out your going to be pumped soon after.
I said it out loud even before i started - that i was gong to RX it. Even saying it i still couldn't believe that i could. So this is how it panned out:
10-29-09
JOSH - For time -
21 OH Squat #95 RX-d
42 Pull ups
15 OHS
30 Pull ups
9 OHS
18 Pull ups
Did the first 12 @ #95. Arm i had the flu shot in started to make me think (felt some soreness too) and became very complacent - dropped it immediately went with #65 for the rest
Did the first 20 Pull ups - Finished off with Ring Rows for rest of work out.
And through the work out i was trying to defeat my self stemming from my head first - then down the rest of my body.
Even in the shower after i was getting more down on myself. I knew that was not the right thing to do, maybe i needed to feel that way just to see what it felt like. I don't exactly know, but the mind is a powerful thing.
Coach "S" must have sensed something. So he wanted me not to have NOTHING to do with this thinking and it was evident that he turned it around pretty quickly.
True - i did give all i had for what i was harboring today
True - your not going to have your best work out EVERY TIME
True - even though my mind was not there i finished the best i could for today.
Feeling a lot better after the time he took with me after. Not sure if he knows what he was doing at the time because this comes natural to him - but thumbs up.
Back at er' tomorrow.
Sincerely,
Not Defeated
